Overview

The Security settings in LeadExec provide comprehensive control over user authentication and password policies, ensuring your account remains secure. By implementing Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA), you add an extra layer of protection against unauthorized access. Additionally, customizable password requirements help enforce strong security standards across your organization.

Key Functionality

  • Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA)
Enhance account security by requiring a second form of verification during login. This step significantly reduces the risk of unauthorized access due to compromised passwords.

  • Password Policy Configuration
Set minimum password length and complexity requirements to promote the use of strong passwords. Recommended settings include:

    • At least 8 characters

    • One uppercase letter

    • One numeric digit

    • One special character

  • Password Expiration Settings
Define a password expiration period to compel users to update their passwords regularly, further enhancing account security.

How to Use This Feature

  1. Access Security Settings
Navigate to Settings → Account Settings → Security.

  2. Enable Multi-Factor Authentication
Toggle the MFA setting to Enabled. Follow the prompts to configure your preferred authentication method.

  3. Set Password Policies
Specify the desired minimum password length and complexity requirements. Adjust the password expiration period as needed.

  4. Save Changes
Click Save Changes to apply your new security settings.

Best Practices

  • Enforce Strong Passwords
Implementing strict password policies helps protect against unauthorized access and potential breaches.

  • Regularly Update Passwords
Setting a password expiration period encourages users to change their passwords periodically, reducing the risk of long-term exposure.

  • Educate Users on MFA
Inform users about the importance of MFA and guide them through the setup process to ensure widespread adoption.

Troubleshooting

  • MFA Setup Issues
If you encounter problems during MFA setup, ensure your device's time settings are correct and that you have a stable internet connection. Consult the MFA provider's support resources for further assistance.

  • Password Policy Conflicts
If users report difficulties meeting password requirements, review the policy settings to ensure they are not overly restrictive. Consider providing examples of acceptable passwords to guide users.
