Overview
The ActiveProspect TrustedForm integration is a compliance and certification tool that aids proper lead qualification by creating a unique certificate and a snapshot of the consumer's form actions.
It allows verification of consumer consent to filter low-quality and high-risk leads from being distributed to your buyers.
Key Functionality
TCPA/CASL Compliance: Provides independent, third-party certification of consent to protect against lawsuits.
TrustedForm Certify: Generates a unique, stored certificate URL for every lead, documenting exactly what the consumer saw and agreed to.
TrustedForm Insights: Provides data on lead quality, such as user interaction behavior, geo-location, and form input methods, to help optimize ROI.
Bot Detection: Identifies and filters out fraudulent, bot-submitted leads before they enter LeadExec.
How to Configure the TrustedFormIntegration
Prerequisites
You must have an ActiveProspect account and a valid API key.
The integration must be enabled system-wide for your account (if you do not see the option in your Integrations screen, please contact your LeadExec administrator).
Step 1: Global Configuration (One-Time Setup)
Navigate to Settings > Integrations.
Locate the ActiveProspect TrustedForm integration, and click Details.
Toggle the Enabled option in the top-right corner.
Navigate to the Connection Settings section and enter your API Key provided by ActiveProspect in the designated field.
Click Save API Key. The key will be stored securely (encrypted).
Note: Without a valid API key, the integration will fail to authenticate and will not work as intended.
Step 2: Configure Lead Type Field Mapping and Actions
From the Lead Type Configurations section, click New to add your desired lead type.
Certificate, Match Lead, Retain, and Response Fields Mapping:
Certificate: Select the lead field that contains the TrustedForm certificate URL address.
Match Lead (Optional - enable/disable using the toggle in the top-right corner): Select the Email and Phone lead fields you want to compare against the values recorded on the certificate.
Retain (Optional - enable/disable using the toggle in the top-right corner): Store the TrustedForm certificate in your account per your account retention settings (5 years by default). You should perform this for all certificates associated with leads you intend to contact to ensure proof of consumer compliance.
Response Fields: Select the lead fields where you want to append the information from ActiveProspect's responses.
Criteria Configuration: Define the rule for when a .... is detected:
Example: If Match Lead: Success NotEquals True, then [Select Action]
Reject: (Recommended) The lead is immediately rejected and will not be delivered.
Quality Control: The lead is flagged for manual review but is not automatically rejected. It will not be sent to buyers unless manually approved.
(Optional) Continue on Match: If you want to stop processing further integrations (e.g., litigator scrubs, phone validation) when a match is not found, disable this option. This saves time and API costs.
Step 3: Enable the Integration on a Campaign
Go to the specific Campaign where you want to enable the integration.
Navigate to the campaign's Integrations > Manage tab.
Find the ActiveProspect TrustedForm in the list of available integrations.
Click Add to enable the integration.
Set Integration Order (Optional):
If you have multiple integrations enabled on this campaign, you can drag the ActiveProspect TrustedForm integration to your desired position in the execution order.
From the Integration Criteria section, you can add an override criterion (similar to the system-wide setup we did on Step 2) specific to this campaign.
Step 4: Test the Integration
Ingest a lead into LeadExec using your web form to verify the integration is working correctly.
Check the lead's logs to confirm the TrustedForm data is being captured and stored according to your ActiveProspect settings.
Best Practices
Always use Reject for data not matching: Flagging leads not matching the information captured in the TrustedForm can prevent your clients from contacting faulty leads.
Place the integration early in your chain: While it is fast, putting it early ensures you don't waste money on other API calls (e.g., DNC.com, IPQS) for leads that will be rejected anyway.
Disable "Continue on Match" for specific high-risk fields that don't match: This maximizes cost savings and efficiency while ensuring high-quality leads are distributed to your buyers.
Test thoroughly before going live: Test a few different leads with different field matches to validate your configuration and confirm that the phone field is mapped correctly.
Monitor your logs: Regularly check for any integration errors (e.g., authentication failures) to ensure continuous protection.
Troubleshooting
Integration option is not visible in campaign settings:
The feature may not be enabled for your account. Contact your LeadExec administrator or support.
Verify the integration was enabled globally in Settings > Integrations.
Leads are not saving the TrustedForm data:
Check that the integration is enabled for the specific campaign.
Verify the API Key is entered correctly in global settings. An invalid key will cause authentication failures logged as errors.
Ensure the correct fields are mapped.
Ensure you add a Response Field to capture the results of the scrubbings.
API errors appearing in logs:
401 Unauthorized: Your API key is invalid, expired, or not authorized for the TrustedForm service. Contact ActiveProspect for help.
Timeout/Network Errors: The API may be temporarily unavailable. The integration will allow leads to pass (fail open) to avoid disrupting your business. Monitor the situation and contact support if the issue persists.
Leads are still being delivered even when failing match criteria:
Confirm the action rule is set to Reject, not Flag.
