Overview

The Import Feature in LeadExec simplifies the integration of external data, allowing users to upload leads and associated information from various file formats, including .xls, .xlsx, and .csv. With field mapping to ensure data accuracy, this feature minimizes errors and enhances productivity, enabling users to focus on conversions and effective campaign management.

Key Functionality

  • Upload Multiple File Formats
Supports .xls, .xlsx, and .csv files for easy lead import.

  • Field Mapping
Ensures that file columns are correctly mapped to LeadExec lead fields to maintain data accuracy.

  • Auto-Distribution
Enables automatic routing of leads to clients as soon as they are posted.

  • Validation & Error Checking
Highlights errors in your file so you can correct them before importing.

  • Summary Review
Allows you to review all imported data before finalizing the process.

How to Use This Feature

  • Navigate to the Import Leads Screen
Go to your Inbound section and select Import Leads.

  • Start a New Import
Click the New button to initiate the process.

  • Select Lead Type & File
In the import pop-up, under Lead Information, choose the correct Lead Type and upload the appropriate file.

  • Choose Lead Source & Campaign
In the Lead Source section, select the correct source and campaign.
Optionally, enable Auto-Distribution to route leads automatically.

  • Map File Columns
In the Columns section, map your file columns to the corresponding LeadExec lead fields. It’s recommended that your file columns match the lead field names for a smoother import.

Note: In the lead importer pop-up, at the bottom left, there is a “Download Sample File” button that allows you to download an Excel file with the recommended column names.

  • Validate Your File
Review the Validation section to identify any errors. Correct them in your file or adjust manually after import.

  • Review Summary & Import
Confirm the import in the Summary section and click Import to complete the process.

Best Practices

  • Ensure Column Names Match
Make your file’s column names match LeadExec field names for faster imports.

  • Use Validation
Always check the Validation section to catch errors before importing.

  • Enable Auto-Distribution Carefully
Only enable auto-distribution if you want leads to be routed immediately.

  • Review Summary Before Importing
Double-check all mappings and selections to prevent errors.

Troubleshooting

  • File Upload Fails
Verify your file format is supported (.xls, .xlsx, .csv) and that it is not corrupted.

  • Columns Not Matching
Use the Columns mapping section to manually align fields.

  • Errors in Validation
Correct the highlighted errors in your file or adjust them manually post-import.
