Introduction

A webhook is a way of sending real-time data from one system to another when a specific event occurs. It works by triggering an HTTP request to a predefined URL whenever the event happens.

For example, when an email is submitted to your Mail Parser inbox, a webhook can send the data (e.g., name, email, phone number) directly to another application, such as LeadExec. This eliminates the need for manual data transfers or frequent polling for updates.

Step 1: Generate Posting Instructions in LeadExec

You will need to generate your posting instructions from within your LeadExec account before moving forward with your form integration.

Posting Instructions can be generated from either the Campaign List or the Lead Source Details page. To generate posting instructions, select Posting Instructions from the top menu of the screen. Here, you can choose the content type for the instructions. Click Export to save the file as either PDF or Excel.

Step 2: Log into MailParser and create your Inbox

Once you have your posting documents, log into your MailParser account and head to Inboxes and click "Create".

  1. Name Your Inbox and Organize

    • Assign a name to your inbox for easy identification.

    • Add it to a folder to keep your inbox organized.

  2. Save and Retrieve the Unique Email Address

    • Once you save the inbox, a window will appear displaying its unique email address.

    • Copy this email address as you will need it for the next steps.

  3. Redirect Email Leads

    • Forward your email leads to the unique email address.

    • Once the email is forwarded, Mailparser will assist by mapping the fields that will be sent.

Step 3: Utilizing Mailparser's Recommended Template

Once you have sent an email, Mailparser will provide you with a recommended template to proceed.

In the template window, we suggest:

  1. Choosing a category provided by the website.

  2. Selecting "Start with this template" to continue.

Note: Mailparser will set automatic parsing rules based on the selected template. These rules can always be modified later by navigating to the "Rules" tab in your Mailparser account.

Step 4: Setting Up Your Webhook Integration

Once your inbox, template, and parsing rules are correct, head over to the "Integrations" tab, Click "New Integration," and from the menu, select "Webhook (Generic)."

Once you're in the webhook configuration window, refer to your LeadExec Posting Instructions for guidance.

In the "Payload Format" section, select your preferred format. While multiple formats are available, we recommend XML or JSON.

In the "Target URL" field, copy and paste our lead receiver URL https://leads.leadexec.net/processor/insert/general

For the "Data Structure" section, select "Custom - Provide your own template" and copy and paste the request payload from your LeadExec Posting Instructions into the Structure Template window.

Then, from the "Replacement Patterns" window on the right, copy the fields and paste them into the matching fields in the request body of the template.

Step 6: Complete the Integration

Once you've configured the webhook with the correct payload structure and replacement patterns, test the integration to ensure that the data is being sent to LeadExec as expected by clicking "Save and Test."

Conclusion

By completing these steps, you’ve successfully set up your Mailparser integration with LeadExec.
