Overview
The Outbound Ping Activity screen in LeadExec provides a detailed record of outbound ping requests sent to clients during the lead distribution process.
When LeadExec evaluates a lead or inbound ping for distribution, the system may send outbound ping requests to eligible clients to determine whether they are interested in purchasing the lead. The Outbound Ping Activity screen allows you to review these requests, examine client responses, and track the results of each ping.
This screen is particularly useful for monitoring ping/post activity, troubleshooting client responses, and understanding how leads are evaluated during the distribution process.
Using this screen, you can:
Review outbound ping requests and their acceptance status.
Identify which clients and delivery accounts received ping requests.
Examine the request data sent to clients and the responses returned.
Access associated lead information and delivery records.
Review ping references to trace activity back to the originating inbound ping or lead.
Filter, search, and export outbound ping activity for further analysis.
Accessing the Outbound Ping Activity Screen
To access this screen, navigate to Reports → Outbound Ping Activity in LeadExec.
The screen displays a list of outbound ping requests associated with your account. Each row represents an individual outbound ping request sent to a client's delivery account.
Filtering Outbound Ping Activity
Use the filters at the top of the screen to narrow the activity displayed.
Dates: Select a date range to review outbound ping activity for a specific period.
Lead Type: Select the lead type you want to review. This allows you to focus on outbound ping activity associated with a particular lead type.
Refresh: Reloads the activity list using the currently selected filters.
You can also use the column filters and search fields to locate specific requests, clients, delivery accounts, or lead records.
Understanding the Outbound Ping Activity List
The Outbound Ping Activity list provides an overview of each request sent to a client and its corresponding response.
The following columns help you review and understand outbound ping activity.
Column | Description |
Accepted | Indicates whether the client accepted the outbound ping request. |
Sent On | Date and time the outbound ping request was sent to the client. |
Client | The client associated with the outbound ping request. |
Delivery Account | The client's delivery account used to send the outbound ping. |
Request | Displays a preview of the outbound ping request sent to the client. |
Response | Displays a preview of the response returned by the client. |
POST Sent | Indicates whether a subsequent lead POST was sent to the client. |
Lead UID | The unique LeadExec identifier for the associated lead, when available. |
Potential Revenue | The potential revenue associated with the outbound ping request. |
Note: Potential Revenue represents the potential value associated with the ping and should not be interpreted as confirmed revenue. Actual revenue depends on the subsequent lead delivery and its outcome.
Depending on your account configuration and selected columns, additional information may be available.
Reviewing Outbound Ping Details
The toolbar at the top of the screen provides several options for reviewing individual outbound ping requests.
To use these options, select a record from the activity list, then choose the appropriate action from the toolbar.
View Send Information
The View Send Information option opens the Lead Deliveries window, where you can review delivery activity associated with the selected lead.
This window provides information about the lead's delivery history, including:
Date and time of each delivery attempt.
Destination and delivery account.
Delivery result, such as Accepted or Rejected.
Associated order and invoice information, when applicable.
Additional delivery details, including requests, responses, and processing logs.
You can also use View Scan Logs to review the client scanning and distribution process.
This is useful when investigating how a lead was distributed, which clients received it, and whether the delivery was successful.
View Lead
The View Lead option opens the selected lead's detailed information panel.
This panel provides access to the lead information stored in LeadExec, including available sections such as:
General: Basic lead information, lead type, lead source, campaign, and date received.
Lead Info: Lead field values and submitted information.
Integrations: Results from applicable integrations, such as Pure CallerID and TrustedForm.
Deliveries: Delivery activity associated with the lead.
Properties: Additional lead properties and metadata.
Files: Files or attachments associated with the lead, when available.
Appointments: Appointment information, when applicable.
TCPA: Available consent and compliance-related information.
The available sections depend on the lead's data and your account configuration.
Use View Lead when you need to investigate the original lead information associated with an outbound ping request.
View Request / Response
The View Request / Response option displays the outbound ping request sent to the client and the response received from the client's system.
The window contains two sections:
Request: Displays the data submitted to the client's ping endpoint, including the lead fields and other information included in the request.
Response: Displays the response returned by the client, which may include acceptance or rejection information, order references, pricing, or other response details.
The request and response are displayed in a formatted view to make the data easier to read. You can also select View Non-formatted to review the raw data.
This option is particularly useful for troubleshooting:
Unexpected ping rejections.
Missing or incorrectly mapped request fields.
Client response formatting issues.
Differences between the information submitted and the response received.
Important: The response displayed is the information returned by the client's receiving system. Acceptance indicates that the client returned a successful ping response; it does not necessarily confirm that a subsequent lead POST was completed successfully.
View Ping Reference
The View Ping Reference option displays the ping transaction details associated with the selected outbound ping.
This allows you to review the original transaction and understand how the outbound ping relates to the inbound activity that initiated the client scan.
The information displayed depends on whether the outbound ping originated from an inbound ping or an inbound lead.
Outbound Ping Originating from an Inbound Ping
When an outbound ping is generated as part of an inbound ping/post transaction, View Ping Reference displays the associated inbound ping details.
This may include:
Date and time of the inbound ping.
Inbound ping result.
Lead source or originating delivery account.
Inbound ping order ID.
Request and response identifiers.
Reference values and pricing.
Original inbound ping request and response.
This information helps you trace the outbound ping back to the original inbound ping transaction and compare the activity between the lead source, LeadExec, and the client.
Outbound Ping Originating from an Inbound Lead
When an outbound ping is generated during the processing of an inbound lead, View Ping Reference displays the associated inbound lead transaction details.
This may include:
Date and time the inbound lead was processed.
Processing result.
Originating lead source or delivery account.
Lead and request identifiers.
Reference values and pricing, when applicable.
Original lead request and response data.
This is useful for investigating outbound ping activity generated during standard lead processing rather than through an inbound ping/post transaction.
Note: The Ping Reference window reflects the originating transaction. The available fields and request format may differ depending on the source of the outbound ping.
Additional Screen Options
The Outbound Ping Activity screen includes several tools to help you manage and customize the information displayed.
Export
Use Export to download outbound ping activity for external review or analysis.
Exports are useful when you need to compare client responses, review activity over a specific date range, or share request details with your team.
Choose Columns
Use Choose Columns to customize which columns appear in the activity list.
You can show or hide available columns based on the information most relevant to your workflow.
Restore Layout
Select Restore Layout to reset the activity list to its default column layout.
This restores the system's default column arrangement and removes any custom column ordering you have applied.
Troubleshooting Outbound Ping Activity
The Outbound Ping Activity screen is a useful starting point when investigating issues with client ping responses or lead distribution.
Here are some common scenarios and the information to review.
Scenario | What to Review |
A client is rejecting ping requests | Use View Request / Response to inspect the submitted data and the client's rejection response. |
A client accepted a ping, but no lead was delivered | Review the POST Sent column and View Send Information to investigate subsequent delivery activity. |
A lead was sent to an unexpected client | Review View Send Information and the associated scan logs to investigate the distribution process. |
The original ping or lead submission needs to be verified | Use View Ping Reference to review the originating inbound transaction. |
A client reports receiving incorrect lead information | Compare the data in View Lead with the outbound request in View Request / Response. |
Potential revenue does not match actual revenue | Review the outbound ping result and the associated lead delivery activity to determine whether a successful sale occurred. |
Summary
The Outbound Ping Activity screen provides visibility into outbound ping requests sent to clients during lead distribution.
By reviewing acceptance results, request and response data, associated lead information, and original ping references, you can better understand client activity and troubleshoot issues throughout the ping/post process.
