Introduction
A webhook is a way of sending real-time data from one system to another when a specific event occurs. It works by triggering an HTTP request to a predefined URL whenever the event happens.
For example, when a form is submitted on your Wix website, a webhook can send the form data (e.g., name, email, phone number) directly to another application, such as LeadExec. This eliminates the need for manual data transfers or frequent polling for updates.
Step 1: Generate Posting Instructions in LeadExec
You will need to generate your posting instructions from within your LeadExec account before moving forward with your form integration.
Posting Instructions can be generated from either the Campaign List or the Lead Source Details page. To generate posting instructions, select Posting Instructions from the top menu of the screen. Here, you can choose the content type for the instructions. Click Export to save the file as either PDF or Excel.
Step 2: Log into Wix and Select Your Form
Once you have your posting documents, log into your Wix account and head to Automations. Select New Automation and choose Form Submission as your trigger.
Step 3: Link Your Wix Form to the Automation
For the Form node, ensure the correct form is linked by choosing the specific Wix form that you want to integrate.
Step 4: Edit the Automation
Connect your trigger to a new node and select "Action", then look for the "Send Via Webhook" option.
Step 5: Add Required Fields for Posting
Once you're in the webhook configuration window, you'll need to grab your LeadExec Posting Instructions.
In the "Target URL" field, copy and paste our lead receiver URL https://leads.leadexec.net/processor/insert/general
Then, choose "Customize Structure" and add the necessary key-value pairs for your form.
In the "Key" column, enter the names exactly as they appear on your LeadExec Posting Instructions.
In the "Value" column, click on "Insert Variable" and select the corresponding field from your form dropdown menu.
Please note that the VID, AID, and LID are static values and should be entered exactly as they appear in your posting instructions. These fields are essential to properly route your leads to the correct lead source, campaign, and lead type within LeadExec.
Step 6: Complete the Integration
Once you’ve completed all the steps, click Apply. This will allow leads to come into your LeadExec account from your Wix forms!
Conclusion
By following these steps, you’ve successfully integrated your Wix forms with LeadExec using a webhook. This integration ensures that lead data is automatically transferred in real-time. With this setup, your leads will be posted directly into LeadExec, ensuring efficient and seamless lead management.
