Overview

As we've touched on before, creating a client account is a straightforward process—but it does involve a few connected pieces. You're not just setting up the client's main profile; you'll also need to configure a Delivery Account (the business rules) and one or more Delivery Methods (the technical how).

Think of it like onboarding a new Lead Source: just as you're prompted to create a Campaign right after setting up a source, you'll be guided to create a Delivery Account and Delivery Method when you manually add a new Client.

Please note: Manual onboarding is recommended for users who are already comfortable with LeadExec or similar platforms. If you're newer to the system, you might find our AI Assist feature a quicker path—it handles the heavy lifting through a simple chat interface.

Step-by-Step: Creating a Client Manually

Step 1: Navigate and Start

  1. From the left-hand menu, go to Client List.

  2. Click the Create button to launch the Client Setup wizard.

Step 2: Contact Information

Fill in the basic details for your client:

  • Company Name

  • First Name and Last Name (primary contact)

  • Email Address

Status: Choose the appropriate status from the dropdown. Options include the following:

  • New, Inactive, Active

Additional statuses can be created by navigating to General Settings > Client Settings > Client Options > Additional Client Statuses:

Important: Set this to Active when you're ready to start delivering leads. Until then, you can keep it in a pre-launch status like "New" or "Pending."

Client Group: Assign your client to a group based on your segmentation or lead strategy. This helps with organization and reporting.

Step 3: Set Up the Delivery Method

Once the contact information is saved, you'll move on to the Delivery Method tab. This defines how leads will be sent to your client.

  • Automated Delivery: Toggle this ON if you want this method to run automatically whenever eligible leads come through.

  • Type of Delivery: Select the method that matches your client's receiving capabilities:

    • HTTP POST

    • SalesExec Integration

    • Email

    • Ping/Post

    • Lead Portal

    • etc.

  • Lead Type: Choose the relevant Lead Type from your library.

If you selected Email or Lead Portal:

You'll see a new tab labeled Portal Login Information. Here, you can assign a username and password for your client to log into their own Client Portal. This gives them access to view and manage their leads.

Step 4: Configure the Delivery Account

Next, head to the Delivery Account tab. This is where you define the rules for sending leads.

  • Channel: Select the appropriate channel (e.g., Web, Phone, Chat).

  • Name: Give this Delivery Account a descriptive name (e.g., "Standard Web Leads – Tier 1 Pricing").

  • Default Price: Set the base price per lead for this client. This price is overridden when using dynamic pricing delivery methods, such as ping/post.

  • Criteria Required: Toggle whether this account will have specific filtering rules for which leads they receive.

  • Exclusive: Enable this if the client should receive leads exclusively (bypassing distribution to others).

  • Require Order: Toggle this ON if the client must place orders to purchase leads from you.

Step 5: Finalize

Once all sections are complete, click Create.

That's it! Your first client profile has been created successfully.
