Getting Started - Delivery Accounts, Pt 1: Creating a New Delivery Account

Your Delivery Account handles the rules (when, how, which criteria, price, and how many) behind every lead sent to your Client. You may need more than one Delivery Account, depending on your Client's needs. Let's see how to create a new account!

Overview

Once you've created a client profile, you might find that one delivery account isn't enough. And that's perfectly normal; many clients have complex needs that require multiple delivery accounts under a single client profile.

Why would you create different delivery accounts for the same client?

Let's walk through a few real-world examples:

  • Different Verticals: Your client buys both HVAC Services leads and Solar Energy leads. These are different lead types, likely with different pricing and different delivery endpoints.

  • Different Teams, Same Vertical: Your client wants HVAC Repair leads delivered during certain days and times to one team, while HVAC Installation leads go to a different team on a different schedule.

  • Different Delivery Methods: Maybe the Installation leads need to be sent to a CRM endpoint with an email notification to one address, while Repair leads go to the Client Portal with a notification to a completely different email.

This is where creating separate delivery accounts becomes essential. Remember: Delivery Accounts handle the rules: the when, how, and which criteria leads must meet to be delivered. Each account can have its own pricing, schedule, caps, and delivery methods.

Let's walk through how to create a new Delivery Account from scratch. You'll recognize many of these options from the initial client setup process.

Step 1: Create the Delivery Account

  1. Navigate to Delivery Accounts in the left-hand menu.

  2. Click the Create button in the upper toolbar.

  3. Fill in the basic information:

    • Delivery Account Name: Give it a descriptive name (e.g., "HVAC Repair – West Coast Team")

    • Channel: Select the appropriate channel (Web, Ping/Post, Phone, Chat, etc.)

    • Default Lead Price: Set the default price per lead

    • Exclusive Delivery: Toggle ON if these leads should be exclusive to this client (bypassing distribution to others)

    • Require Order: Toggle ON if the client must place orders to receive leads

Step 2: Configure Delivery Settings

On the Delivery Settings tab, you'll notice that Automated Delivery and Criteria Required are enabled by default. These are critical functions for most delivery accounts.

  • Automated Delivery: When ON, eligible leads will be sent automatically. You might temporarily disable this while you're still fine-tuning the setup.

  • Criteria Required: When ON, leads must pass the criteria you define (more on this later) to be delivered. If you've already filtered leads thoroughly at the Campaign level and are confident only qualified leads reach this account, you could disable this.

Setting Delivery Methods:

This is where you connect the Delivery Methods that will carry leads to your client.

  • You can attach up to four delivery methods to a single delivery account.

  • The Client Portal is always available as a fallback delivery method for every client—and there's no extra cost for portal access.

Once you're satisfied, click Create to finish the initial setup.

And that's it! You have created a new Delivery Account.

You'll notice that a new tab opens, showing additional tabs and a wide array of settings to further customize your Delivery Account.
