Overview

Access Control via IP Restriction allows you to specify which IP addresses are allowed to submit leads into LeadExec. This optional feature ensures that only leads originating from approved IPs are accepted, enhancing security by rejecting any from non-whitelisted addresses.

Key Functionality

  • Enable IP Restriction
Activates the whitelisting system to limit lead submissions based on IP address.

  • Add Authorized IP Addresses
Enter and save the approved IP addresses to establish trusted sources.

  • Save Configuration
Finalizes the specified IP settings, enforcing access control.

How to Use This Feature

  1. Click “Add IP”
In the Lead Source List screen, click the Add IP button from the top menu to begin whitelisting.

  2. Enter IP Address(es)
Input the authorized IP addresses and click OK to submit them.

  3. Save Your Settings
Click Save Details in the upper-left corner. Once saved, only these IPs can post leads.

Best Practices

  • Whitelist Trusted Sources Only
Add only IPs from reliable and controlled lead-origin systems to protect lead integrity.

  • Combine with Other Security Controls
Use IP restriction alongside features like Lead Grading to bolster protection against unwanted or malformed lead submissions.

  • Keep Access Updated
Regularly review and update the IP list, especially when new vendors or posting servers are added.

Troubleshooting

  • Leads Rejected Unexpectedly
Confirm that the submitting IP is on the whitelist. Typos or formatting issues may cause legitimate leads to be blocked.

  • IP Addition Doesn’t Take Effect
Make sure you clicked Save Details after adding IPs; otherwise, the new settings won’t apply.
