Overview
Enabling TCPA Certification requires you to configure your lead type to work with TCPA Certification. With TCPA Certification, every lead you collect on your own landing pages, or on landing pages where you have provided the unique code, is checked for consent, IP address, and mobile phone. If a complaint is ever filed, you can generate a certificate from LeadExec.
Follow these steps in order:
Enable TCPA
Prepare the lead type
Set the campaign's Compliance Options
Generate the form script and place it on your landing page
Run the TCPA checklist
Verify consent and print certificates
Step 1: Enable TCPA
Go to your Settings, then select TCPA Options, where you can enable TCPA for your LeadExec account. For the settings screen itself, see Settings - TCPA Options.
Enable TCPA Certification for each lead type:
Open your Lead Source Details.
Click TCPA Options.
Select On under Enable TCPA Services.
Select the lead type that you wish to configure with TCPA and click Configure. A green check replaces the Configure button to show it is set up.
Step 2: Prepare the lead type
Make sure the required fields are set up inside your lead type so all TCPA information is captured correctly.
Go to the Settings section of your LeadExec account.
Select Lead Types on the left-hand side.
Select the Lead Type you will be applying these changes to and click Open.
Open the field you want to tie to its system field. Under the System Field section, choose the system field that best matches the field you are editing.
The fields that need to be added to your Lead Type are:
First Name: A Text field that connects to the First Name system field.
Last Name: A Text field that connects to the Last Name system field.
Primary Phone: A Phone Number field that ties to the IsMobile system field, allowing LeadExec to check if this is the person's mobile number.
IP Address: A Text field that connects to the IP Address system field.
Consent: A Yes/No field tied to the Consent system field. This allows LeadExec to work with the code generated from the campaign section and your form to capture whether the lead has provided consent to be contacted.
Once you have finished with all of your fields, LeadExec will be able to capture and display all TCPA information correctly.
Step 3: Set the campaign's Compliance Options
Click List in the Lead Sources section of your left-hand navigation toolbar.
Select the Lead Source where you will be enabling TCPA.
Select the Campaign that you will be enabling TCPA Certification under and click Edit.
Click Compliance Options.
If you have set the TCPA consent text you wish to have populated on your form, paste it into the TCPA Form Consent Text field. If you leave this field blank, it defaults to the following text:
Default TCPA Consent Text: "I agree to be contacted on the number supplied using an automated telephone dialing system or prerecorded or artificial voice. I understand that providing my cell phone number is not required to purchase services and that I may revoke this permission at any time"
Turn on TCPA Mobile Check by selecting Yes. This feature is a requirement to use the TCPA system and has a fee of $.03 per Mobile Check.
Turn on Locate IP by selecting Yes. This feature locates the lead via their IP address.
Step 4: Generate the form script and place it on your landing page
Make sure your form is set up to collect the following fields, and that they are correctly mapped to the corresponding system fields in LeadExec (see Step 2):
Full Name of the lead (this can be split into First Name and Last Name)
Phone: callable number of the lead
IP Address: very important for enabling full TCPA functionality
Contact Consent: can be a yes/no field or a checkbox
Consent Text
To tie your form to the LeadExec TCPA feature, add the LeadExec TCPA Form Script so LeadExec captures the correct information. To generate your form script:
Click Lead Source.
Select the Lead Source that you want to be tied to your form.
Select the Campaign that you want to be tied to your form.
Click TCPA Options.
Under the TCPA Form Consent Text, click Generate Form Script.
Webform setup site, code example, and example site: LeadExec | TCPA Consent Provider API
Turn TCPA on for your lead type
Place the consent code on your landing page
Verify the consent text is present on your landing page
Step 5: Run the TCPA checklist
Once these options are enabled and set up, run the TCPA checklist to make sure everything is set up correctly.
Click Lead Sources.
Select the Lead Source you have enabled TCPA on and click Modify Campaigns.
Highlight the Campaign you enabled TCPA on and click TCPA Checklist.
Step 6: Verify consent and print certificates
Verify that leads are checked for TCPA Consent in the Lead List.
Navigate to List under the Leads section of your left-hand navigation.
In the Lead List, find the TCPA Compliant column. If you do not see this column header, use the Choose Columns feature, find the TCPA Compliant column header and drag it into the screen.
If you ever have a complaint, search for the specific lead by name, open the Lead Details, then select TCPA.
You can see the general TCPA checks, and you can Print Certificate. The printed certificate looks like this:
To save it, right-click on the certificate, select Print, and then Print to PDF.
Best practices
Ensure consent capture fields (name, phone, IP address, opt-in confirmation) are present on your web form.
Use customized consent text if desired; otherwise, rely on the default for valid consent collection.
Keep TCPA Mobile Check enabled at all times for continued certification.
Store printed certificates as proof in case of future disputes.
