Adding Lead Sources and Campaigns is an integral part of configuring your LeadExec account. In this area of the system, you will control where leads are coming from and what type of leads you will accept. You should understand all of the Delivery, Criteria, and Quality/Lead Validation options to ensure your buyers receive valid and qualified leads.
To get started, go to the Lead Source List option from the left-hand navigation under the Inbound section.
Step 1: Select the Create button
Add the Name of the lead source, the Email associated with the lead source, the Address for the source, as well as the City, State, and Zip Code.
Step 2: Once you have added your lead source, click Next to create a new campaign. When creating the campaign, it will ask you to add a Campaign Name, Channel, Lead Type, and Price.
Price Per Lead
Set the default cost applied to each inbound lead received.
Use case:
Used when purchasing leads from a lead vendor that charges a fixed price per lead (for example, $10–$20 per lead).
Price Per Sale
Specify the fixed dollar amount applied when a lead converts into a sale.
Use case:
Common when paying a partner or affiliate a flat commission for each successful sale.
Revenue Share (%)
Specify the percentage of the sale amount applied as revenue share.
Use case:
Used when a lead source receives a percentage of the final sale value instead of a fixed payment.
Note:
These values represent the cost paid to your lead source. If you generate the leads yourself, we recommend setting these values to $0.
Step 3: Once you have added your campaign, click Next to modify the Properties.
*Based on the channel you selected for your source lead, this screen may vary.
Step 4: Create your API Key
This API key is required to post leads into LeadExec.
From the Lead Source Details screen, click Access Keys in the top toolbar.
Then select Add Key to generate a new key. Once created, include this key in the request header when sending leads to LeadExec.
Step 5: Gather your Posting Instructions
The final step before sending leads to LeadExec is obtaining your Posting Instructions. This document provides all the details needed to submit leads to the system.
The Posting Instructions will list the lead fields configured in your Lead Type, identify which fields are required or optional, and allow you to choose the format used to submit the data. LeadExec accepts lead data in JSON, XML, or HTTP POST (URL-encoded) formats.
From the Lead Source List, locate the campaign associated with your Lead Source, select the target campaign, and then click Posting Instructions to view the document.
