Overview

This article guides you through the initial steps of adding a new client using the Client Setup Wizard in ClickPoint. You’ll complete the Contact Information stage, define statuses, assign client groups, and understand the tabs you'll access later in the setup process.

Step 1: Create Client

  1. Navigate to Client List in the left menu.

  2. Click Create to launch the Client Setup.

Step 2: Contact Information

Complete the following fields:

  • Company Name, First Name, Last Name, Email

  • Status (New, Pending, Working, Waiting, Dead, Inactive, Active, Late, Suspended, Closed)—set to Active when ready to start lead delivery.

  • Client Group: Assign based on segmentation or lead strategy.

What’s Next in the Client Set Up.

Once contact info is entered, other tabs become available:

  • System Properties: Modify backend settings like delivery priority.

  • Client Delivery Method: Define how leads are delivered—via HTTP POST, XML, Internal Delivery, SOAP, SMS, Email, etc.—and configure method details.

  • Notes: Add internal comments or client-specific instructions (optional).

From the Portal Login Information, you will be able to assign usernames and passwords for your clients.

From the Delivery Account screen, you can select the channel, give the Delivery Account a name, set a Default Price for your leads, select whether or not you will have Criteria, make the leads exclusive, and set if orders are required.

Best Practices

  • Complete Contact Info fully before continuing—save is disabled until required fields are entered.ClickPoint Blog

  • Set Status to Active only when the client is ready to receive leads.

  • Pre-select Client Group to simplify routing and reporting later.

Summary

Part I sets up the foundation—client ID in system, status, and grouping. From here, you’ll layer in delivery methods, mapping, and invoicing to complete your client configuration.
