Overview

Setting up Return Reasons for each Lead Type is a crucial step in managing lead returns effectively. These reasons define the default options your clients can select when returning leads via the Client Portal.

To access your Lead Return reasons, proceed to your Settings screen, Lead Type. You can manually add various return reasons, and once you have typed out your return reason, be sure to hit enter, then Save.

Key Functionality

  • Default Return Reasons per Lead Type
Allows you to predefine acceptable return reasons for each Lead Type, ensuring consistency and clarity for clients.

  • Client Portal Visibility
These return reasons are presented in the Client Portal, enabling clients to select the appropriate reason when returning a lead.

How to Use This Feature

  1. Navigate to Lead Type Settings
Go to Settings → Lead Type within your LeadExec account.

  2. Add Return Reasons
In the Lead Type configuration screen, manually type each return reason you want to include.

  3. Confirm and Save
After typing each reason, press Enter to add it, and then click Save to store your changes.

Best Practices

  • Include Clear and Common Return Reasons
Consider adding default reasons such as:

    • Bad Phone

    • Not Interested

    • Incentivized

    • Never Applied

    • Does Not Meet Criteria

  • Align with Buyer Expectations
Make sure your defined return reasons match the scenarios buyers are likely to encounter, this supports transparency and reduces confusion.

  • Review Periodically
Adapt return reasons over time as campaign requirements or lead buyer feedback evolves.

Troubleshooting

  • Return Reason Not Appearing in Portal

    • Ensure you've added and saved the return reason in the Lead Type settings.

    • Double-check Lead Type assignments and matching logic to ensure the correct reason list is exposed.

  • Client Unable to Select Reason

    • Verify return reasons were entered correctly and that no typo or formatting issue prevents proper display.
